The Dick Dei Track Classic

The 2026 Dick Dei Track Classic returns to Wheeling Park High School on Saturday, April 11, 2026, bringing together some of the region’s best track and field athletes. Just one hour from Pittsburgh and two hours from Columbus, the meet continues to attract teams from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia for a day of outstanding competition.

Taking place the second week of April, the Dick Dei Track Classic honors the legacy of its founder by providing a high-level competitive experience and premier athlete recognition. The Top 8 finishers in each event will receive awards and podium recognition, including High Point Award winners, and each event champion will earn an official Dick Dei Track Classic Champion Shirt.

Where the elite, compete!

To the starting line in…

Through economic downturns, snowstorms, and a pandemic, the Dick Dei Track Classic continues to fulfill Dick’s vision of a highly competitive meet.

The Dick Dei Track Classic is one of the Ohio Valley’s premier high school track and field events, bringing together top athletes from across West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Founded in 1977 by Wheeling Park’s first track coach, Dick Dei, the meet was built on the belief that athletes and teams improve by competing against strong competition.

For nearly five decades, the Classic has continued that tradition while honoring the legacy and vision of its founder.
